I have an amazing story of love and synchronicity that I want to share with you in a few weeks’ time. So I’m going to do something a bit unusual, and start at the end of the story first. This seems very perfect with Valentine’s Day just around the corner.
Back in 2016 I made my first visit to Sedona in Arizona. This magical place is known for the many Vortexes that naturally occur across the landscape. In fact, I was walking across a carpark and walked through one! It was the most bizarre feeling….like the world around me was spinning. I immediately knew that this was a special energy site.
Yet it’s not just the energy that Sedona is renowned for. Its majestic red rock scenery and stunning vegetation lend Sedona its inherent regenerative and inspirational effects. Many people travel there to bathe in its streams, knowing that this powerful energy is transmitting from the water and the landscape directly into their cells and aura.
Like my home town of Byron Bay, Sedona is considered one of the spiritual centres of the world. And, also like Byron Bay, it is the home of many amazing artists, artisans and crystal shops. One of these artists who has made Sedona his home is Honshin, whose unique artwork is distributed through his Honshin Fine Art gallery in Sedona.
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Nicholas Kirsten-Honshin began painting in his father’s studio at the age of 5. His art and poetry are a reflection of his experience with ancient Eastern spiritual practices, and the philosophies of Christianity, Tibetan and Zen Buddhism, and ancient Mesoamerican cultures.
The story of how I came to discover Honshin’s gallery is a topic for a future blog. However, one of the things I love about his art pieces is that he writes a poem to go with each one. This is the poem he wrote for his current exhibition around the Original Valentine.
The Original Valentine
The moons, the asteroids, the comets, the galaxies...
The nebula, the pulsars, the quasars, the black holes.
The mountains, the valleys, the deserts, the plains.
The great bionome, the microbes, the insects, the amphibians, the reptiles...
All of the great family of life!
