Have you ever had a mystical moment? My first one happened when I was 18, and it changed the course of my life.
At the time I was studying to become a Zoologist, inspired by my passion for animals. I had spent the day at University and was driving home just a little too fast, coming up to a blind hill on the street where I lived.
Suddenly, something said “STOP!!!!” so intensely that I jumped on the brakes without a second thought.
There in the middle of the road was a little dog. It had been hidden from view because of the blind hill, and if I had not stopped at exactly that moment, I would have hit it.
I’ve often tried to recollect that moment. I know I didn’t physically hear a voice, yet the energy of the voice travelled through me with such power and intention that I acted on it instantly and without question.
In that one moment, everything I previously believed about the world disintegrated, and a new world presented itself to me – a world of mystery and mysticism, a world that Science cannot yet explain.
I pursued my journey into Zoology, yet I couldn’t let go of this mystical moment. It set off a cascade of questions:
Who had called out to me?
How had I heard it, if not with my physical ears?
If this is possible, what else is possible?
And there began my journey into the unseen realms, a path which I still walk today.
I’m sure you’ve had these experiences. It can be as simple as thinking about someone and then the phone rings and that person is on the other end of the phone….or finishing someone’s sentence for them, even though they didn’t give a clue as to what they were about to say.
Or it can be that intensely creepy feeling you get when you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, and you just need to get yourself out of there as quickly as you can!
I still remember one of my students sharing a particularly strange experience. She was driving along a main road, and suddenly had the urge to pull over to the side of the road. She hopped out of her car and there in the grasses, hidden from view, was a cyclist who’d been knocked off his bicycle. She didn’t know this person, but she was able to help him and call an ambulance.
Another friend told me about a time he’d been hit by a car. He was critically injured and lying on the bitumen, and a beautiful woman crouched down next to him.
She looked deep into his eyes and talked to him in a very calming voice, telling him to stay with her…..and he did. When the ambulance finally came, she bent down and said, “We weren’t meant to meet like this…but it is lovely to see you again.”
Then she walked off, and somehow he knew she was an Angel who’d come to help him….for it is true that Angels walk amongst us.
After hearing so many amazing stories like this, I understand that there is a whole Universe beyond the veil of our physical eyes, and our potential is so much greater than we could ever imagine.
Inside of us is this most exquisite flame that we call the Soul.
And this flame extends far beyond our physical body, reaching into other dimensions. In these other dimensions, our flames are all inter-connected.
Some of these flames we will recognise more than others – they are the flames of the people we know and love.
When one of these people is in trouble or even just intently thinking of you, that energy travels through their flame into these other dimensions, and your flame picks up on this energy and transmits it to you.
And this is how you come to know things you have no way of physically knowing.
We call this our sixth sense, or intuition, or psychic ability. It’s a very real sense that we all have, just like our other 5 senses. But like any muscle, it atrophies when it’s not being used.
So how do you exercise your intuition? There are many great ways to do this. Next week is Mystery Week, and in next week’s blog I’m going to share with you a simple exercise that I’ve been teaching for many years….
