Love, Photons and the meaning of Life

I’ve long been aware of the power of Love. I’m sure you have, too. It carries its own tangible vibration, which can both bless us and heal us. When I rescue and rehabilitate sick and injured native wildlife, I’ll often put stories up on my personal facebook page. When an animal is in particular need or distress, people from all over the world respond to my call for help, and send love to that animal. I know without a doubt that this love and intention is felt. It allows that sacred Being to be cocooned in a shield of positive vibration, to support its healing, or (at times) its passing. Sharing love and compassion is what we are here on...

Where’s my Chicken Soup?

Many years ago, I read Chicken Soup for the Soul by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen. Earlier this year I was privileged to run a webinar for Jack Canfield, and in return for my time I requested an autographed copy of his book. It’s arrived, and I’m revisiting this old favourite, and enjoying it just as much on the second read through as I did on the first. Intuitively pick a number between 1 and 9, and see which inspired quote is choosing you today. As a special treat, I’ve also included a Young Living oil blend to partner with your affirmation: 1. Spread love everywhere you go…Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in...

Harmonies of the Spirit

The more that we surrender and sink into our deeper spiritual nature, the more that we become aware of the “harmonies” around us. To start with, we have the obvious auditory harmonies. If we only choose to pause for a moment and listen, we’ll be exposed to the most magical symphony of bird songs, the pitter patter of rain as it lands like tear drops into puddles on the earth, the sound of the leaves singing to us as they dance in the wind, the creaking of the branches as they stretch their joints towards the sky, and the crickets and frogs serenading the twilight. Yet there’s another set of harmonies that is occurring for us - the Harmonies of...

Patchouli, Patchouli, let down your golden hair!

Whenever I smell Patchouli essential oil, it carries me back to the sixties with the flared jeans and miniskirts, the paisley prints and sideburns. It has that luscious earthy tone which sits us firmly and squarely in our body, reminding us to enjoy the pleasures that life is offering us at every twist and turn. It’s an oil of spontaneity and naughtiness – one that encourages us to celebrate our unique and gorgeous self, in all its quirkiness….and to be proud of it! The last few days, I’ve been drawn to Patchouli as a fragrance. You know how it is - essential oils call out to us! I find I’ll go on a roll with one oil, and it will...

The Fool on the Hill

Who's the Fool? Day after day, alone on the hill,The man with a foolish grinIs keeping perfectly still; But nobody wants to know him,They can see that he’s just a fool,And he never gives an answer. But the fool on the hillSees the sun going downAnd the eyes in his headSee the world spinning ‘round. I’ve always loved that song by The Beatles. It speaks to me of someone who knows a whole lot more than the crowds who stand in judgment. As a society, we greatly underestimate the power of the Fool. Let’s explore what it really means, and why “Fool-dom” is one of the highest states you can attain….even greater than “Wis-dom”. In Medieval Europe and the Renaissance...
